Now you can
run both APSW Budget Planner V3 Pro and APSW Budget Planner V4
Enterprise using the same budget plans.
V3 Pro and
V4 Enterprise are separate programs. V3 Pro is a multi-functional
static budget planner designed for you to track and plan your
regular incomings and outgoings. V4 Enterprise is not only a budget
planner for static or regular incomings and outgoings, but also
an 'actual' or 'real-time' budget planner. This new budgeting
system encompasses all your known budgeting items as well as those
budget items you don't plan for or are not paid on a regular basis.
Many people
have varied tastes in budget planners and both programs are suited
to individual needs, but what we've designed is a utility that
will convert your V3 Pro budget plans to the V4 Enterprise format
without interferring with your V3 Pro data.
Simply put,
this utility allows you to import V3 plans and data to V4 Enterprise.
Why? Because we wanted you to have a choice. Chances are, you
are probably very happy with V3 Pro and all its functionality
but you'd still like to try out V4 Enterprise but don't want to
start again with your budget plans - adding, editing, creating
categories etc. 'APSW V3 Pro to V4 Convertor'© does all the
work for you.
Look at the
screenshots below to get an idea of what it looks like.

Here's how it works:
1. When you start the program all three columns look almost the
same. (picture 1)
2. Double click on the drive containing your APSW folder. This
will nearly always be in C: Drive under Program Files/APSW.
3. Once you have located the APSW program folder, expand it to
display the BPV3 (or whatever you called V3 Pro folder).
4. Expand that folder to display the contents of the folder. The
budget plans and data contained in the V3 folder will then be
displayed in the middle column. (see picture 2)
5. For each budget plan you have, the names will be different
but there will be six or more files with the same name
(eg. tish1.(extension name) see picture 2)
6. Highlight all the plans with the same name (eg. all files
with the name 'tish1' have been highlighted in picture 2)
7. Now you need to give these files a plan name for V4 Enterprise.
You can, if you choose, name the plan the same as whats in your
V3 folder. But, if you already have saved plans in V4 Enterprise,
be sure to name the converted plan to something other than whats
already named in your V4 Enterprise folder.
For example: I have a plan name in V3 called 'Tish1' and I want
to convert this plan to V4 format but in the V4 folder I also
have a plan called 'Tish1'. I need to rename the plan I want to
convert to something different so as not to overwrite my existing
plan in V4 Enterprise. I would name it something like 'V4 output'.
8. See picture 2. I have named the new plan 'V4 output'
and created a new folder in the APSW - BPV4 folder called V3toV4.
As long as the folder is in the program files/APSW/BPV4 folder
you can name it anything you wish to identify its the converted
plan.
9. Click on 'Convert' in the program. Almost instantly you will
see a popup that confirms all files have been converted.
10.Simply start up your V4 Enterprise - choose 'File Open' and
find your newly converted folder. Expand this folder and you will
see a file with a .SAV extension - this is your converted plan.
You can, if
you wish, save these files to any location on your hard drive.
Saving them to the Program Files/APSW/BPV4 folder is simply an
example, although it is the most practical location for the newly
converted budget plan.
